|Websters defines family as: A basic social unit consisting of parents and their children, considered as a group, whether dwelling together or not.
ABS is committed to serving the entire family and not just the student.
Consider this analogy of a family: A car (representing the family) has four flat tires and is prevented from moving. You fix one tire (the student) and think the car can now make it to its destination on just one tire. This puts an undo and impossible burden on one tire (family member). You have to inflate all four tires (entire family) on the car to make the car run effectively and reach its destination.
ABS commits to help each member of the students family. Parents are involved in planning and selecting the workshops we provide. We collaborate with other community agencies to offer workshops to our parents. The following are just some of the workshops parents elected to participate in:
